Review – Mr E Rooms Escape Rooms

The concept of escape rooms is believed to have originated in Japan back in 2007 and has rapidly expanded across the world.

Mr E Rooms resides in an unassuming building next to the library and the initial impression was very positive, receiving a warm welcome and shown to a waiting area decked out as a pub.

After a short wait we received a simple briefing and were shown to our room, in our case The War Room. Much thought had gone into the decoration, transporting us back to the dark days of the Second World War and told it was our duty to save the world!

Whilst the experience was lighthearted there was a certain sense of urgency to succeed in the task. Each stage of the process presented a very different challenge and was certainly not easy. There were four of us, with a range of ages and different ways of thinking, so we thankfully completed the task in the allotted hour with a few minutes to spare.

This is something that would appeal to a wide variety of ages and personalities so we encourage you to give it a try.
