Artist Petra Ingham – Big Ideas By The Sea and Big Reach visual artist – invites you to drop-in to her preview evening at St. Mary’s Church on Friday 30th May, 6-9pm, as part of North Yorkshire Open Studios 2023. This annual event enables artists and makers to open their studios, meet, promote and sell their work directly to the public over the first two weekends in June. You are also welcome to call in to view to her work on the weekends of 31st May and 1st June – Saturday 10-5pm, Sunday 1-5pm, as part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios. Petra is artist in residence at St Mary’s Church, Scarborough. As a contemporary abstract artist, Petra’s work focuses on the relationship between art and sound. Listening to different genres of music, and immersing herself in the sounds of nature, allows for a spontaneous and intuitive emotional response. Petra’s work has more recently been influenced by the stunning stained glass windows and stone, all around her whilst she is working in her studio at the Church.
