Detailed Information
The Alexander was built as a hotel in 1936 and has remained a hotel ever since. During the Second World War the hotel was used to accommodate Army Officers working at Burniston Barracks, now long gone, located just across the road from the hotel and it was said that the King stayed in Room 4 whilst visiting the troops at the barracks. The hotel has had three previous owners since the end of the war and we have owned and run The Alexander since January 2001.
