Plans were approved yesterday by North Yorkshire Council to bring the popular activity of axe throwing to Scarborough.
Escape Rooms Scarborough will be adding an axe throwing cage to their existing experience, planned to open soon.
The origins of axe throwing games started in the 1800s as a pastime for loggers and lumberjacks. By the 1940s American woodsmen showed off their skills in lumberjack competitions, widely recognised as official competitions by the 1960s and believed to become a general sport in the US in 2014.
